I have taken on an incredible challenge. In October, I'll be walking 60 miles over the course of three days, camping out at night with thousands of other women and men taking this journey with me.
It's for an event called the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure. Net proceeds from the Komen 3-Day for the Cure are invested in community-based breast health programs and breast cancer research. The research funded focuses on decreasing breast cancer incidence and mortality in the next decade. Susan G. Komen for the Cure works hard to build a future without breast cancer, and I plan on raising $2,300 to help bring us closer to that goal. I am so happy to be a part of this event!
One in eight women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Without a cure, one person will die of breast cancer every 13 minutes in the United States. That's why I'm walking in the 3-Day for the Cure. Because everyone deserves a lifetime. I hope that you'll share this incredible adventure with me by supporting me in my fund raising efforts.
This raffle is my first fundraising event for the 3Day. All items have been very generously donated by some amazing artists and crafters; you will find more information about them along with the details of the piece on the raffle items page. Find out more about the 3 Day here.
~*~ This is how it will work. ~*~
-Read this page of rules first. There is important information here about how to participate.
-In order for all raffle ticket purchases to go towards fundraising, I will require you to go straight to my profile at the 3 Day website (as opposed to Paypal which will deduct fees). You will receive a letter from the 3 Day so that you can use your raffle ticket donation amount as a tax deduction.
-The raffle will run for one month (you will find the dates below).
-The minimum donation of $5 (which is the minimum that can be donated at the 3 Day website) will be the equivalent of 1 ticket, $10 will be for 3, $20 for 7, and $50 for 20 tickets. One item per ticket.
-You must leave a comment on the raffle item blog page (NOT this information & rules page) with you first name, e-mail address, and number of tickets purchased so that I can cross reference that information at my 3 Day Personal Page (where you make your raffle ticket donation). It's also so that I have a way of contacting you to receive your winning item.
-I will use a random number generator to pick the raffle winners.
-At the completion of the raffle, I will notify the winners via the e-mail provided that they won and also announce the winners right here on my blog.
-If you have any questions, leave a comment below and I will answer you as soon as possible.

-The raffle will go live on Thursday, April 15, 2010 and stay open for one month.
-The raffle will close at 11:59pm EST on Thursday, May 13, 2010.
-The drawing will occur on Friday, May 14, 2010. And winners will be notified promptly at the completion of the drawing.
